Annual Chinese New Year Dinner
March 8, 2007 (Thursday)
We are pleased to welcome Mr. K.C. Chan, a former President of the
Actuarial Society of Hong Kong, a former chairman of the China Region
Committee of the Society of Actuaries and a former chairman of the China
Sub-committee of the International Actuarial Association. K.C. moved
from Canada to Hong Kong
in 1995 and spent 10 years in an actuarial career in Asia before moving
back to Canada
last year. He will discuss the various opportunities available for
actuaries in Asia. He will also
share with us his Asian career path, the pros and cons of moving to Asia
and the risks and rewards of an actuarial career in Asia.
His presentation would be useful for actuaries in all practice
areas.

and network with fellow members of the Club and enjoy a fabulous feast!
Numerous door prizes will be awarded! Our Grand Prize will
be a Nintendo Wii console to be awarded to an early bird. If you have

Business Workshops
Our next series of business workshops will be held at Manulife Toronto on
December 5th, and repeated on December 13th. (Please note the date change) The topic is Networking and Relationship Building and the workshops are from
6 pm to 8 pm. The following pdf file

CIA Communication Skills Course
December 13th, 2006 (Wednesday)
The CIA is putting on a
Communication Skills Training seminar at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel on
the morning of December 13th from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. All actuaries and anyone working for an
actuary may attend this seminar. The

Fall Dinner Meeting
September 20th, 2006 (Wednesday)

organized with the assistance from the Ontario Conference of Casualty

Workshop Series

We have been asked whether these workshops qualify for the CIA CPD requirements

On February 16th, 2006, we had our Annual Chinese New Year Dinner at the
Metropolitan Hotel in Toronto.
We were pleased to invite Mr. Jean-Louis Massé, President of the International Actuarial
Association (IAA) to be our guest speaker of this event.
